2020 "Daniel Cloutier" Ancient Kauri Violin

Pickup currently unavailable
A fine violin by Daniel Cloutier, dated from 2020.
This violin is stunning in every aspect, a technological marvel, a powerhouse and peak solo instrument. It cuts through an orchestra crystal clear and rings forever. It is a sister build with identical materials to the previous ancient kauri instrument from 2020. There are two violins and a viola made from identical materials and from the same board in 2020.
The top plate, backplate, internal blocks, scroll, and bass-bar of this violin utilize a computed tomography (CT) scan of the 1704 "Betts" Antonio Stradivari violin, currently owned by the Library of Congress, and has been entirely machine carved with a machine tolerance of 0.0005” and accuracy of 0.001"-0.002" from the original instrument.
This violin has an artistic and unique antiqued hand-rubbed combination spirit and oil varnish.
Not only is Ancient Kauri a rare resource, mined from the earth like gold. It is even rarer to find Ancient Kauri with the proper density of the woods required to make a violin backplate and ribs. The back plate, scroll, and ribs of this violin are 50,000+ year old Ancient Kauri with the same density of the maple it replaces. While the linings, and blocks are made of Ancient Kauri with spruce densities.
The pegs and tailpiece are made from Royal Fenland "Bog" Oak carbon dated to 3,300BC in the style of Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume’s carved fittings found on Antonio Stradivari’s 1716 “Messiah” violin. The internal blocks are mortised and made of 50,000+ year old Ancient Kauri with spruce like density.
