A variety of Hellweg & Cloutier violin tailpieces in Mountain Mahogany.

While the wood of the Mountain Mahogany tree generally exhibits a rust-colored hue, certain sections of the tree will often be darker or lighter than other areas, with the darkest wood being the most rare. In this photo, you can see a full range of these color possibilities. From left to right, and in order of increasingly dark wood, we show here the French, Diamond Tufted, Ocean Wave, Messiah, and Woven tailpiece designs.
